Trend Report: Furniture

Trends are really set by big retailers such as Ethan Allen, Pottery Barn, IKEA and many others.

Each retailer has its own set consumer category and each of those have a different style they lean towards. The top three I see are traditional, rustic/farmhouse and modern. Let’s look deeper into what these retailers see to be their favorite pieces.

At Ethan Allen we see a lot of high end, traditional pieces of furniture may it be in your bedroom, living room to office.

Pottery Barn covers a large variety however we most see them suiting the farmhouse / rustic chic styles.

Best sellers at https://www.potterybarn.com/

Last retailer I want to dig into the best sellers of is IKEA. They are known for their Swedish designs, good pricing and DIY-ability.

Depending on personal style you have a range of retailers to choose from. Besides the ones listed above others include Gabberts, Restoration Hardware, Crate & Barrel, Williams Sonoma and more.

Personal Update: Back into Interior Design & Sales

As some friends and family know I took a step down in my interior design career when I took on a position at Cullen’s Home Center as a receptionist. I started this position just a week before getting married September 8th, 2018. A few months in I was blessed with the pregnancy of my first child and then took a 12 week maternity leave.

I absolutely love Cullen’s Home Center! All of my coworkers are fun and caring people so I have enjoyed my time here so far. With that said I am still excited to be stepping into the design field and working with customers!

My focus here will be blinds, home decor, furniture, mattresses and flooring. There are many details still to be learned but the only way to do that is to dive right in and start helping!

I’ve found a love for decorating for the season, that season being Christmas!
